crimes of all kinds were going down all over the country thanks in no small part to the clinton administration.

(gun control, predator law, databases & registries, drug smuggling)

“So glad he took care of the college kids doing a joint to inflate his stats.
Meantime what about the real crime and the real criminals ?”

Real crime and real criminals? What about the nearly 70% drop in murders from the beginning of his term (over 2000+ the last year under Dinkins) to the end (about 600+), a far bigger percentage drop than any other larger US city? And the accompanying drop in other serious crimes like robbery, rape, car theft, etc as well?

It was basically the same police force that was in place under Dinkins — only this time, the mayor was telling the cops to go out and vigorously enforce the law, rather than standing down, as Dinkins had directed during the Crown Heights Pogrom. You didn’t catch Rudy going to the family of a drug dealer killed in a shootout with police, apologizing for the guy getting killed and paying to send his body back to the DR for burial (Dinkins did exactly that with a drug thug named Kiko Garcia).

And what about how Rudy, as a Federal Prosecutor, pretty much broke the back of the Mafia in New York by putting many Mafiosos in jail during the celebrated “Pizza Connection” case (so named because drugs and money were moved from Italy to America through Mob-controlled pizza stores)? Or how he booted the Mob out of the Fulton Fish Market, which it had run for decades, getting its “vig” on every single piece of fish sold in New York? He was such a thorn in their sides that the heads of the Five Families actually discussed having him whacked (John Gotti was in favor of it — but the other Dons outvoted him, fearing that killing a high-profile prosecutor would bring even more heat down on them — the same way the leading gangsters back in the 30s decided against having racket-busting D.A. (and future Governor and GOP Presidential candidate) Tom Dewey murdered.)

If that’s not doing something about “real crime and real criminals — I don’t know what is.

This is so hypocritical. Why do frum jews support rudy? If bill clinton was immoral, then certainly rudy is? Rudy and his current wife have 6 different marriages between them. Rudy had multiple adulterous affairs – and his even broke up his family!
(And his kids dont even talk to him now…the same kids who were his props in the 90’s).
    Some family values.
Furthermore, rudy is a LIBERAL and he was even nominated in NY by the liberal party whe he ran for one of his terms as mayor.
He is pro choice , pro abortion, pro-civil unions for gays, pro gun control.
This is a flip flop for double standard in the frum community who dont support sucha candidates as of late.

Crime? Rudy didnt go after crime. He wanted to raise the statistics so he had the police focus all their time and energy on mariujuana. During his tenure simple marijuana misdemeanor arrest went up to over 400%!

So glad he took care of the college kids doing a joint to inflate his stats.
Meantime what about the real crime and the real criminals ?

Rudy’s signature issue as mayor was fighting with the homeless and the “squeegie men” that was his big thing. the guys that try to offer to clean your windshiled for a buck. he turned homlessness into a crime and shoved them all uptown and into the subway tracks. that was his “big thing”
he never got along with any of the other city officials or borough presidents and his approval rating was very low before 9/11.

Actually, Rudy came to office right after the first WTC boming attack and did what exactly to improve things? NOTHING!

THem ajor failuire of that day was that the fire dept / police / ambulance were all on different frequencies and couldnt communicate or receive the same information. Did Saint Rudy of 9/11 fix that? did he improve it? no, he took a cheap bid from motorola, the firemen had old outdated radios and boom – comes 9/11 2001 and they can communicate, are not in sync, cant hear one clear order from superiors and that was one of the biggest city failures of 9/11 that could have been prevented.
Furthermore, what did Rudy do after he came to office after the wtc attack in 93? He decided to put the command center IN THE TOWER. the towe that had just been attacked, to knock it down thats where he put the central command, so that if attacked again…how exactly would that help?? it would be pointless.

    Good on security? certainly not.

“rudy has nothing on securty except speeches.”

I beg to differ. His entire career as a public official, first as a U.S. prosecutor and then later as Mayor of NYC has been oriented toward protection of public safety — it was his signature issue as Mayor. The result was a plunge in muders from 2000+ per year before he took over to about 600 per year when he left — a far larger percentage decline in the murder rate than was seen in any other large-sized US city.

Without agreessive anti-crime leadership from the top, as Rudy gave when he was the Mayor, the NYPD is just a bunch of guys in blue uniforms standing around impotently and doing nothing because they have been told to let the criminals “vent”, as was the case during the Crown Heights Pogrom and the also during the months-long Flatbush Korean Deli Boycott organized by the racist Sonny Carson, y”s — surely the low points of the ill-fated David Dinkins administration.

Rudy will bring the same focus on protecting the US public to the White House that he showed while he was Mayor.

The R nominee wont be McCain or Huckaboom anyway. They have nothing on Rudy when it comes to US security.

The D nominee would be Hillary Rotten Clinton (aka Her Thighness), or Barak Hussein Obama (aka Osama Obama per Ted ‘hic-cup’ Kennedy). Once the country figures out that NEITHER ONE HAS DONE A BLASTED THING IN THEIR CAREERS, they will hopefully vote for someone on the right.

McCain impresses me as being a very sincere man. Does anyone here know his views on Israel?
