New York, NY – Six New York City mayoral candidates will spend a night in a Harlem public housing building to highlight conditions in the city-run system.

The six will spend tonight at the Lincoln Houses. The participants include Democrats Christine Quinn, Anthony Weiner, Bill de Blasio, William Thompson Jr. and John Liu as well as independent Adolfo Carrion Jr.
They will each spend 12 hours with a host family. The sleepover is organized by the activist group Community Voices Heard.
Shoddy conditions in city Housing Authority buildings have become a hot topic in the mayoral race. Several candidates have called for its chairman, John Rhea, to step down.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg has defended Rhea.
Frankly I would NOT want ANY of these candidates sleeping in my house!
I can only hope they get the full experience in these public housing and only then will they see the extent of the crime and drug dealing that goes on there.
