    Paterson, NJ – Emergency management authorities are warning residents and ordered a 5 mile shelter in place in Paterson and nearby Clifton about a possible hazmat incident ongoing now at a Paterson recycling firm.

    Authorities are using the reverse 911 telephone system to alert residents of a possible problem at the Gaeta Recycling facility on West Railway Avenue, near Knickerbocker Ave in Paterson, the facility does cardboard and other recycling.

    A fire was reported inside the one-story cinderblock building and officials were worried about an unspecified substance or material inside.
    By now the fire is still smouldering. but is contained. Nonetheless, officials are warning people around the plant to stay inside with their windows closed until they know more about what's burning. [Wabc – Vin]

    #1 , you’re not so far off. My friend went down to headquarters to report his window smashed and GPS stolen and got a parking ticket (for expired meter) right outside city hall! It’s crazy!
