The House of Representatives voted 217-205 to defeat an amendment to the defense appropriations bill that would have limited the National Security Agency’s ability to collect electronic information, including phone call records.
The measure, which has been opposed by the White House and intelligence chiefs, was the first attempt to curb NSA spying since former NSA contractor Edward Snowden leaked details about the extent of the agency’s data collecting.
So we have a nice almost majority that would like to stop this program that they wouldn’t know about without Snowden, and the USA is persocuting him?
Republican hypocrites at their best. 60% of them vote against ending the NSA surveillance program that they created and tried to blame on Obama. The phony outrage crowd couldn’t get enough of their latest “scandal”, yet when it comes time to vote, the party that authored the Patriot Act suddenly decides it doesn’t mind unconstitutional spying on American citizens.
Can we have a list of the people blocking this vote so come election time we can take action?
