Hikind, who represents Borough Park, Mapleton and Midwood, called Thompson the “best choice for the Jewish community” and all the people of Brooklyn for District Attorney.

“I am proud to endorse Ken Thompson because he is the best choice for the Jewish community and all the people of Brooklyn to be our next District Attorney,” said Assemblymember Dov Hikind. “It’s time for a change. As a prosecutor and attorney in private practice, Ken has a proven track record of fighting for one standard of justice. Ken is a true friend to our community who honors the cultures that make Brooklyn great — I have no doubt that he will be an outstanding District Attorney.”

“I want to thank Assemblyman Hikind for his support. We are building the strongest, most diverse coalition in this race, and that is what it will take to bring change to the District Attorney’s office. Together, we will make our communities safer and ensure that there is one standard of justice for all the people of this borough,” said former federal prosecutor and candidate for Brooklyn D.A. Ken Thompson.

The son of one of the first female NYPD officers to patrol the city, Ken Thompson has fought to ensure equal justice and equal protection for everyone throughout his career. As a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, he investigated and prosecuted a wide range of criminal cases. He was part of the legal team that delivered justice for Abner Louima, who suffered some of the most horrific acts of police brutality ever committed in the history of New York City. In private practice, Ken has stood up for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and employment discrimination to ensure that their voices were not drowned out by the wealth or political connections of their abusers.

In recent days, Thompson has won the support of former candidate Abe George and New York City’s largest labor union, 1199/SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, which represents 220,000 members in New York City and over 100,000 members and retirees in Brooklyn alone. Hikind’s endorsement also comes on the heels of recent endorsements for Thompson from Brooklyn Congressmembers Yvette Clarke and Hakeem Jeffries, Bay Ridge Democrats, Lambda Independent Democrats, Brooklyn-Queens NOW PAC and Muslim Democrats of New York.

After the endorsement Thompson met some Borough Park potential voters in a meet and greet the candidate tour.

Hikind said that mr. Thomson is “best choice for the Jewish community”. Can mr. Hikind explain why he thinks this person is this best choice for the Jewish community? Hikind admits in the video that he met mr Thomson about 4 months ago for the first time. Its not like he nows him for years and trusts him. I would like to hear a little bit more from Hikind on why he is saying this person is the “best choice for the Jewish community”
