The FBI is scheduled to visit Irina Malezhik’s Brooklyn apartment today hoping that the piles of documents in her messy apartment will provide some clues to what happened to her.
Malezhik, 47, was last seen on a surveillance camera leaving her Brighton Beach co-op at around 1 p.m. Oct. 15, according to friends and cops, who have searched hospitals and morgues looking for answers.
“It is as if she stepped off the planet,” said Raymond Grunewald, a defense lawyer and former chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s criminal division who knows Malezhik. “She left her ID and documents inside her apartment, so she wasn’t going anywhere.”
…As if she stepped out of this planet. …And stepped into the abyss of the unknown, to join Jimmy Hoffa and others who disappeared, never to be found again.
