Not only do people have to be careful where they light the candles, but who and what is near them at all times while they are lit.
    Smoke detectors are cool too.
B”H no one was injured, including the baby asleep 2 rooms away.

There’s a segula to prevent fires done at the end of havdala. After the havdala is extinguished with the wine, it is relit and again extinguished (this time not with the wine) It definitely wouldn’t hurt to try it, and is considered a segulah to prevent any fires during the coming week. gut vach
