    Brooklyn, NY +Large Building Evacuated+ FDNY on the scene evacuating an estimated 150-200 people of a large multiple use 11 story warehouse building that has been converted into lofts, called the “kibbutz”, at 475 Kent and Division Avenues, after finding an illegal Matzo Bakery in the basement.

    Fire Department, Department of Health, NYPD, OEM, some from the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit and the Red Cross are all on the scene for the building that has been evacuated, Haz-Mat also requested due to piles of coal, wood, empty cardboard boxes and large containers of grain used for baking the matzo of which the Fire Chief said, that grain becomes “highly explosive” when processed.
    EMS has also been requested for one firefighter that has been injured.

    The next door 4 story building, which had been converted into a Hasidic girls school and catering hall, has also been shut down.

    Residents were allowed to return Monday to retrieve their belongings, but it’s unclear when they will be able to move back in.

    You ought to take the $1500 you spend on rent every month and go to school so you will learn how to spell, write and then make some more money so you will be able to live in a regular home…with windows.

    We hope that this people will found a batter place where to live.

    And we are looking out to the owner to redevelop the building for the needy Williamsburg couples, how now live? In basements with no windows and $1,500.00 rent, and YES they will enjoy the large windows of 475 Kent Ave.

    Community activist Isaac Abraham said the owner was working to rectify the situation.

    The owner “was caught totally off guard with certain violations,” Abraham said.
