Now it’s impossible for her to walk a city block even with a cane, she said. She has to use a scooter to get around.

“I waddle when I walk. I go into heavy muscle spasms if my legs get tired,” Feinman said.

She also has lost the ability to control her bladder and her bowel movements, she said – the result of her spine being partially crushed by the procedure.

The lawsuit faults the company, Axiom Worldwide, a manufacturer of “spinal decompression devices,” for “false and misleading” promises.

The company advertised that “an accidental discovery by NASA in outer space quickly and easily solves 86% of back pain,” according to the suit.

Feinman said she saw an advertisement in a local paper and then checked out the company’s Web site.

“It said there were no negative effects,” she said.

The company previously settled litigation with the State of Oregon and paid a fine related to advertising there.

“It’s speculative for me to comment at this point,” Axiom Worldwide spokesman. [nydailynews]

Its interesting how you mention that you were a chiroprator and its all a crockery. You also went on to explain how many disgruntled chiripractores will agree thats its all a mockery. Well let me just say that i`ve been a victim of a major back injury and no-one and i mean no one and no therapy was able to help me other then my local chiropracter. Maybe ask some NON disgruntled chiropracters and ask REAL patients for a true and fair assesment of this medical practice.

Thank you Dr. Tarnofsky for your proffesional healing and much hatzlocho to continue helpiong people.

My husband was given two choices…surgery or this machine. He chose the machine & it IS a miracle. Yes, it was $4,500, not covered by insurance, but within a few days he was feeling much better & went back to work after a couple more weeks.

I have to thank Dr. Melinda Keller & her team…they are great & they never gave any assurances they couldn’t keep. But they exceeded our expectations.

Surgery would have been free through the insurance, but he still would not be fully recovered & this happened Rosh Hashana time. My husband is now in the Far East on business & had no problems with such a longhaul flight.

Don’t believe everything you read, esp. if a lawsuit is involved.

Chiropracty is for curing backaches. Anything more than that is phony. I see many who claim to cure everything from bedwetting to cancer.
Also alot of them blend in all kinds of “new age” stuff about “energy meridians” and such, much of which is based on Eastern Avoda Zara.

BTW I recently daw an ad from a chiropractor with a list of conditions he can treat. Among them was listed SIDS 🙂

Franly I’ve been a chiropractor and while in general I try to avoid doctors, I have come to the conclusions that chiropractic is nothing more than decorated quackery. There are more than enough disgruntled chiropractors who will confirm this. For the most part, chiropractors are well-intentioned, take their art seriously, and may sincerely believe in the chiropractic theory, despite the overwhelming lack of medical basis for it. I wish them success in earning a good parnassah b’siyata d’Shmaya but the innocent must be protected from the misleading claims and techniques of chiropractors.

People should be very careful. There are some chiropractors in Brooklyn who claim that they have this “miracle” machine, which is called “DRX 9000”. It’s a very expensive treatment and is not covered by any health insurances.
