Marcello Garcia also has been suspended from the 800-student high school for 10 days and is receiving a professional mental-health evaluation.

His "hit list" included the names of several students, plus mention of Jews, President Bush and Wisconsin police.

A teacher's aide observed students huddling in the cafeteria reading the list, took it and reported it to administrators, who called the sheriff's office.

The list made no mention of doing harm. Even so, "We took it seriously," said Superintendent Dan Roberts, "The boy, in our estimation, has cried out for some help," Roberts said. "We are going to discipline him and get him some help."

The sheriff's office, who interviewed the boy, said he felt picked on and was trying to scare some classmates. [columbusdispatch]
