Metro North To Charge Parking Fees In Rockland And Orange Counties

The Metro North Committee of the MTA approved charging parking fees at lots it owns or controls in Rockland and Orange countie.
Metro North said the fees are necessary to offset the $21million the agency has spent during the past five years to build or improve parking facilities in the two counties.

Commuters who park at the Pearl River station’s two lots will be hit the hardest, because they currently don’t pay a penny to park.
Those who park at Spring Valley’s lot have paid $90 for an annual permit for several years. Metro North took over the lot in 1999.
