Monticello – Camp Owner Faked Papers.

    1

The investigation into the deaths of five dance-camp students and a counselor who crashed her car in July has led to felony charges against the camp’s owner for falsifying state paperwork, officials say.
Sullivan County District Attorney said they learned that camp owner Anna Kapitannikov, whose son was one of the dead, canceled her required worker’s compensation insurance three years ago. The state Insurance Fraud Bureau says she faked state paperwork, claiming to still have a comp policy.   The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warrant charging her with falsifying business records and failure to maintain worker’s compensation coverage.
According to immigration records, Kapitannikov left the country in mid-October.
