Israeli customs officials have seized a large shipment of fake kosher “Krembo” sweets being imported to Israel from the Gaza Strip, with forged kosher seals and certificates.
Customs staff normally screen goods for signs that Palestinian militants are smuggling weapons or suicide bombers.
Customs officials also unearthed fake kosher certification documents.
Suspicions were raised that the sweets had found their way onto the export market, to be sold in kosher food shops around the world.
