BERLIN, Germany – A US federal appeals court has upheld a lower court’s decision to dismiss a $200 million claim by Jewish heirs to a German department store over land they say was wrongly taken from them by the Nazis, the store said Sunday.
KarstadtQuelle said in a statement Sunday.”We are confident that all other rulings in the contest with the Wertheim heirs in Germany and the United States will reflect this,”
A lawyer for the Wertheim heris said the appeals court decision did not deal with the essence of the case and that the claim would be refiled.
