    S. PETERSBURG, Russia – The Great Choral Synagogue of S. Petersburg hosted a ceremony bringing in a new Torah, presented by local Jewish businessman Yevgeny Kupsin, who dedicated it to his father and his family.
During the ceremony, the donor reminded the audience about the 613th Commandment, which requires every Jew to write at least one Torah during his life in order to pass it on to the future generations. “As I put my heart and my soul into this gift, I would like my son to feel the necessity to write a scroll too,” expressed Kupsin.
