Noerdlinger is president of Noerdlinger Media. She had served as executive vice president of communications for Sharpton’s National Action Network.

McCray says Noerdlinger “shares my commitment to bringing social justice to the forefront” of New York City.

De Blasio says she “has been a strong voice for this city’s underserved communities.”

The couple says Noerdlinger brings two decades of experience fighting for civil rights and better opportunities for low-income and minority groups.

Noerdlinger says she looks forward to working with McCray.

The mayor called his wife “my partner in everything I do.”

As time goes on, I become increasingly uncomfortable with the make-up of the DeBlasio administration. There is increasingly a pattern of appointments that do not reflect concerns and struggles of our communities.
In addition, I don't remember seeing DeBlasio's wife on the ballot. She may need a Chief of Staff to coordinate her schedule, but this is a highly political person who is used to articulating policy and politics.

Why am I not surprised? All of the vinnews liberals keep saying "give the guy a chance, it's his first month for gosh sakes". Ok, he had his chance. Now I can say it with impudence. He is the worst mayor since Dinkins! Go and shoot me for saying it.

He made it very clear while he was running that if you elect him, his wife is going to be his top adviser and take a very active role in his administration. No surprises here.

If you were not uncomfortable with DeBlasio before he was elected it is because you did not read up on him, this is exactly the person he is, and purported to be.

I did not vote for him for exactly these reasons, and it turn out he is who he says he is.

She is a really accomplished PR person and highly respected among progressive organizations. The new mayor could care less about Sharpton's poor judgement 20 years ago. He has embraced Sharpton as a legitimate leader of the civil rights community and yidden might as well get over it.

I did not vote for him either. I guess, that I was hoping, that campaigning was one thing and governing would turn out to be more moderate. I clearly was wrong in hoping this.

sharpton poor judgment 20 years ago; he still has the same poor judgment. di Bliaso will go down in history being worst the Dinkins like obama will go down in history as the worst President ever. obama is a disgrace to the Presidency and a disgrace to be our President. di Bliaso is now trying for this in New York. Communism has not work and it will not ever work no matter how many time you change it's name

So far I have seen no tachlis from him, only talk (and usually too little, too late of that). This appointment, or that appointment... what in practice has he actually done? Only actual results will can prove anything, but it seems to me that he has no actual substance to him at all. For good or for worse.

"Poor judgement 20 years ago"? He instigated the murder of several people! Would you talk the same way if Yankel Rosenbaum was your brother? Should murderers from the 90s be freed too?

The fact that DeBlasio has embraced an anti-Semite as a legitimate civil rights leader is something we have to accept? What an outrageous comment. How can an anti-Semite be a civil rights leader? It's an oxymoron. Furthermore, what has Sharpton done for civil rights or for African-Americans? The answer is zip.
Since it is Dr. Martin Luther King day, ask yourself what Dr.King would have said about Sharpton. Given Dr. King's background and pronouncements (especially his very strong condemnation of anti-Semites and anti-Semitism), there is no question that Dr. King, unlike the spineless liberals of today like DeBlasio, would have denounced Sharpton in no uncertain terms. He would not have had any form of association with an anti-Semite like Sharpton.
