Yitzchok N, 17, of 20 Ellish Parkway and Mendel W. 26, of 7 Nesher Court both were charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of possession of burglar tools.
They were caught at B’nais Sisocher at 12 Maple Terrace, off Maple Avenue, police said.
Police were called by someone who was monitoring B’nais Sisocher’s surveillance cameras and saw the break-in, Detective Lt. Brad Weidel said.
Both men were accused of entering the synagogue through an open front door, cutting off the lock to the poor box and taking an unknown amount of cash, Weidel said.
He said the men then allegedly broke into the storage closet and took juice and cookies.
Weidel said detectives were investigating whether a synagogue next door to B’nais Sisoscher also was burglarized.
Nahon was released on $1,500 bail, while Weiss is being held in the county jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
How come you don’t print the name of frum thieves. You do print the names of non=Jewish perpatrators.
Did they make a brocha on the food?
The names are there. The last names are at the end of the article.
They took “juice and cookies”??
Were they hungry? Why would someone break into a shul for juice and cookies? Should they be prosecuted for that? Is there more to the story?
Were the cookies Gebaaken Nuch Pesach?
what a chillul hashem
They took the cookies because it was yoshon lechol hadayos.
Why must you know the name of the frum thieves?
Renee – 4:37 You must have missed that they
cut the lock to the poor-box & took the money.
Only then did they take some food. At any rate
how can you justify breaking into a shul & stealing.
I think we should be dan l’kaf zechus. Perhaps they were poor but ashamed to accept charity, so they were taking what they were entitled to, and just happened to get caught. About the juice and cookies, perhaps they realized they would get caught and were ashamed to be stam taking tzedakah, so they ate to make it look like they were not aniyim collecting charity but simply thieves committing a crime. (?)
To quote DON’T JUDGE; “Perhaps they were poor but ashamed to accept charity…”
So, they were ashamed to accept charity, but not ashamed to commit a crime. Sorry! I fail to see the logic there. Glad you put a Question Mark at the end [of your post] (in parentheses)!

Do u give a Non jew the same benefit of the doubt? and if not then why not. After all they are just as poor and need food etc.
Hashem Yerachaim what has this world come to?
kook ku!!
To rob a tzedakah box which doesnt contain much money shows a tremendous level of desperation who knows what their matzav might be who could judge them? Do you judge a starving man if he steals some food?
they must be on drugs. nebech.
