Holiday Mountain owner Craig Passante said that he plans to break ground next spring on the 20,000-square-foot water park that could be open by spring of 2010. The park will add 50-75 jobs at the year-round recreation and amusement spot.
The initial funding for the project will come from a $1 million state grant secured by state Sen. John Bonacic to the Sullivan County Industrial Development Agency, that is working with Town of Thompson Supervisor Tony Cellini and Passante.
Passante said that he has talked with developers to build a hotel adjacent to the park.
If the SUTAN cant come in throgh a casino the next best is a water park
will it be kosher???????????
hey the camps wont have to travel far enymore
i hope so
that takes the thrill out of a trip
20,000 SQ FT? DOESN’T SOUND TOO LARGE
Who do you talk to, to open a kosher hot-dog stand.
What does this joke have to do with an amusement park?
The camps, both girls and boys separately, contract out the water parks so the kids can have fun in a frum atmosphere. I’m sure that Holiday Mt will do the same. and yes it would be so much better even though the trip is fun. The kids will be back in camp before 12 midnight this way. Why do so many people have to look at everything in such a negative way.
First Comment about the sutan is well said
Anon 3:38,
Why are u bashing Kollel life for?
FORGET ALL THAT. Think about all the additional traffic on Route 17 every Friday afternoon!!!
Plan on alternate routes my friends.
20,000 sf is not all that big
why is a government grant paying for this?
The Government Wants Jobs. But I Was Wondering What Kind Of Government Help We Get Back For Pouring In Atleast A Hundred Million Dollars Into The Sullivan Economy.
20,000 sq ft? average size bp apartment…
The reason a government grant is involved might have something to do with attempts to revive the completely dead economy of the area. Do you see all the shuttered storefronts? Unemployment is out of hand. Some development is a good way to get things moving.
As for the comments about the “Sutan”… if the park doesn’t fit your lifestyle you have every right not to use it. Nothing personal against you but there will be plenty of people who will enjoy this. You have your ways, they have theirs.
