New York – A number of erroneous reports hit the news-wire this morning that Israel.com sold for $5.88 million. A Moniker.com spokesperson told VIN News that these reports were incorrect and the domain name is still for sale.

According to the spokesperson the rumors started when a publication, perhaps Haaretz, saw the reserve price in the Moniker auction as closed and assumed that was a winning bid price, the auction closed with no winner as no one met the reserve price.
Moniker plans to put up the domain for auction again, if no private negations is successful said the spokesperson who asked that his name remains anonymous
