New York – NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton warns that Syria surpasses al Qaeda as the biggest terrorist threat to the United States.

At One Police Plaza on Monday Bratton highlighted Syria’s role as a major terroristic threat explaining that the civil war has created radicals who now have the skills to perform deadly terror attacks, including Americans in Syria reports The NY Post (http://bit.ly/1jjiPFv).
“We estimate that there are a significant number of Americans [in Syria] and when they come back, they’re going to come back with skills that they did not have when they went over there,” said Bratton.
He also noted that a diminished al Qaeda network has been focusing on inspiring other terror groups.
