The women and their families had arrived at an Arden Arcade home for Passover dinner when the tragedy occurred.

Brandon Bowman, 26, had been drinking all that day, and got behind the wheel and started speeding at least 60 mph through residential neighborhoods.

On Wemberley Drive, as families arrived for Passover dinner, Bowman lost control of the car and lurched onto the lawn where Brodovsky was standing.

The impact threw Brodovsky against Bowman’s windshield and then tossed her body between another car and a gutter.

Brodovsky, a member of Sacramento’s orthodox Jewish community, was remembered for her love of life and her talents as a teacher and musician.

During the hearing, the oldest of Brodovsky’s two daughters, 9-year-old Jasmine, stood a few feet from Bowman and told the judge that she misses her mother and the brother who was to be born.

“I just want to say that my mom was the best mom a girl could have,” Jasmine said to a sobbing courtroom. “Now that she’s gone, it’s been really hard. … He (Bowman) hurt hundreds of people … and it will never be the same.”

Bowman was given the maximum penalty for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and other DUI-related charges.

    What a tragic story.

In Asia the law is if your caught once being drunk and behind the wheel you automatically get 10 years in jail and lose your license for good and there is no ands, if or buts about it.

We need these type of laws in the USA.

The creep in this story will get out in 4 years for good behavior and will be behind the wheel again.

Where is Chucky Cheese Shumer on this issue?

My imma was my favorite person. She was so caring to me and my sister. Without her, I feel afraid, but I remember that G-d is allways watching over me. My abba takes care of me very well. I wish Mr. Bowman never took drugs and I feel sorry for him. I will never forget my imma. I mostly dream that my imma is helping me to do hard things. I love my imma!

She was six months, four days pregnant with the boy, not five months as was reported. She was very happy to have brought the baby to a viable age and would want this corrected. Most people feel a viable fetus should be counted as an additional charge but it is not as the laws now stand.
