Friday will be the last day of normal temperatures, as a warm front eases its way through the area. The advancing front will bring with it some light showers and storms but as the front pushes north, the skies will clear up setting the stage for the first heat wave of the season.

Hot and sticky air is expected to reach the area by Saturday afternoon, as temperatures approach 100. This will likely kick off a few days of unseasonably warm and humid weather with temperatures 15-20 degrees above normal.

That trend is expected to continue through at least Monday.

With that in mind, the National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for several counties in the tri-state area. The advisory will be in effect from tomorrow afternoon through Monday night.

Officials advise wearing light-colored, loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.

its advisable if you have any neighborers who might be elder people and live alone make sure they are ok
