In a 4-1 ruling, the Appellate Division of state Supreme Court declared it constitutional to place the devices on vehicles as long as they’re in public view.
The court said it would have been inadmissible only if the police put a device that was inside the vehicle or hidden somewhere on the car.
What would be the point of putting it in open view if the syspect ca see it and remove it. Sounds like a whacky law.
The point is to protect your own privacy rights.
This is a free country you can do whatever u want nobody suppose to follow u without your knowledge
If this were a ruling upon those under house arrest to allow them to travel around, I would understand it.
But a potential suspect – that’s EVERYONE in their eyes – and without any restriction or forewarning.
Is it a GIFT of a GPS to the potential suspect? And they are free to throw it out, or give it to someone else, such as to put onto a police chief’s car?
2:47 I would love to stick the GPS on the cheif’s car but I’m afraid that I’ll be billed the the tracker.
