The F, G, 2, 3 and 4 lines had either serious delays or major suspensions of service between Manhattan and Brooklyn and within Brooklyn.
The G was suspended end to end; the F was suspended between Jay Street and Church Avenue. The 4 was suspended between Bowling Green and Brooklyn and the 2 and 3 were also affected.
The outage affected signal power, not rail power, according to the MTA. All trains had lights, air conditioning and propulsion power.
The MTA said it has portable generators en route to the location which it will hook up to power the signals. Officials did not know when that would happen, but NYC Transit pledged to work as expeditiously as possible to restore normal subway operations in and through the affected area.

Also effected are some 150 customers in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, Con-Ed is on the scene at Lorimer Street between Lee Avenue and Union for a total of two full blocks that are without power at this time, due to numerous manhole fires. Fire Department also on the scene.
