We should ALL set our timers on The Sabbath Setting (by GE) and watch through a SHINUY! If in doubt, we can always consult our GODOL.

p.s.: the above comment was for laughs! Everyone IS REALLY proud of the High School and its students!

I was a contestant on such a program when I was in High School; it was indeed taped long in advance.

    Congratulations to these students!

To Anonymous and Anon (the first and second post). I am very disgusted at people like you who are very quick to judge others. Our entire family is proud of our son and his friends who competed in this competition over the past school year. The boys have worked very hard to attain their goals, both within this competition and in life. They attend The Yeshivah of Flatbush where they are not only required to excel at their secular studies as was proven in this competition, but can go head to head in any subject, such as Gemarah, Chumash or Halacha, with their peers who attend any yeshivah. They also study many subjects that are not studied in most yeshivot such as Jewish philosophy, Hebrew language, and Tanach. They fill their long days beginning at 7am until well past midnight studying and working on up to 14 different courses per semester. In their spare time they are all involved in some volunteer chesed program. One fine example of which is Yachad. They are all committed to completing their studies in some of the finest schools in Israel and moving on to the best colleges where they will be able to continue their Jewish as well as secular studies. They will then be able to engage in a lifestyle similar to Yissaschar and Zevulan only they will be able to personally fulfil both sides.

Thank you to charles B Hall, anon 2:46 and Yodea sefer for realizing the positive aspects of these hardworking students. A big thank you should also be given publicly to the Administration and Faculty at Yeshivah Of Flatbush.

As a quick follow up the shows were pretaped at a studio for airing on a future date. They were not at all required to be at the studio on shabbos.

One should always be “dan l’kaf zechus”, of course we should not suspect Yeshiva boys of being mechalel Shabbos Chas Vesholom.

It’s amazing how instead of saying, I’m sure this was taped earlier, you immediately jump to the conclusion chilul hashem. Yes the paper made it sound like the taping was on Shabbat, but Da’al L’caf Zchut, they taped early and kept the results a secret.

Instead of Jews being happy for each other, and proud ot the accomplishments there is Lashon Hora.
