    E. S., 60, was known to travel between the New York City area and Lakewood, said James T. Plousis, U.S. Marshal for New Jersey.

Plousis said authorities had received a tip that S. would be in the Lakewood area on Tuesday, and they put the home under surveillance. He was arrested there without incident around 10:30 a.m.

    S. was wanted on charges of inducing others to commit aggravated commercial fraud, inducing others to commit breach of trust and committing fraudulent bankruptcy. More than 43 European investors and 15 Austrian banks allegedly were victimized by the fraud.

    S. was arraigned Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Newark and remanded to the Essex County Jail, where he remained Wednesday night. A bail hearing in federal court was scheduled for Thursday. Plousis said he did not know if S. had retained a lawyer.

How inconsiderate – arresting a fugative on Yom Tov. They should have shown a little respect for a man observing a religious holiday.

what kind of stupidity is that lakewood nuch amul. He is a chasidisher yid who had every rebbe in brooklyn monsey and anywhere else eating out of his hands and attending his simchos. After his son opened a chushiver bais medrash he recently came to be with him. Lets watch as every rebbe disassociates themselves with him while they all knew his money was treif while lakewood yeshivah who has nothing to do with him gets insulted by the vin readers

I don’t think anyone was trying to put lakewood into this mess. I think it was a poor attempt of a joke agaist the silly people who complained about arresting him on Yom Tov. Rabbosai, there is a yid here who has given lots of money to mosdos. If he did something wrong, and they can prove it, then he will unfortunately face the music. But, why are WE, his brothers and sisters, already damning him????? What happened to dan l’kaf zchus? Maybe we need to learn from our colored brethren who trully believe OJ is innocent. Why are we talking agaist chosheva Rabbonim and their taking of treif money? Why do we need to put their children to shame?

I think the complaint about the time of the arrest is due to our military not wanting to kill arabs during ramadan. Why should we show them respect and not get any for ourselves?

4.6 mill is probably only byodin- who knows how much more is the real story?

    Anonymous

Another possibility, 4.6 mil. is the max amount the prosecuters estimate, which is always exaggarated, and is very well much less…

So there are always a different approach to strories like these by the general public vs. people who are not just JEWISH but actually practicing Yidishkeit, and besides of being Don L’kaf Z’chus, you also have a bit of rachmonos on every yid.

But unfortunately every time a story of such nature appears, those people with the attitude of “lock ’em up & throw away the key” always show up to throw in there 2 cents…

Let’s just pray for “Imolu Ha’aretz Deiyu es Hashem”

As a girl from a chasidisher home, who married a black man, I can guarantee not one black “brother” thinks OJ is innocent. They all know he is guilty as sin, just as Michael Jackson and R. Kelly. They just think it’s funny that he was let go.

Another thing, why should they take into consideration that he is frum and it is Shavous?! He didn’t take into consideration that he is frum and “Lo Signoiv” is one of the aseres hadibros, which were given on Shavous. If Mr. S. doesn’t respect his Yom Tov enough to follow the aseres hadibros given on this day, why should the US Marshals respect it for him. He made his position as to his respect for this yom tov very clear. The marshals were just following his example.

Forget about “Don Lecaf Zchus”, in America you are innocent until proven guilty. The fact that he was arrested by the government is no proof that he is guilty of anything. When and if, the government finds him guilty of anything, then we need to consider the “Lecaf Zchus”, and we still need to believe that he is not guilty until found guilty by a “Bes Din”.

I don’t care how many mosdos he helped. If the money was treif, he gets absolutely no zchar. It’s time that we stop protecting the so-called frum people who do not hesitate to steal our money or rip-off others. I’ve seen people who served time in jail being given the greatest kovod. They continue to sit on the “mizrach vant”. It makes me sick. It simply sends the wrong message to our children.

I would publicize their names, just like they do with pedophiles.

Lo signov in the Aseres Hadibros refers to kidnapping. Anyone that knows anything about yiddishkeit can tell you that. With the amount of “knowledge” that you portray, YOU definitely should.

Lo Signov only refers to kidnapping, but “lo signovi” in the Torah (not aseres hadibros) refers to stealing money.

mr s recently had a pacemaker put in and is a diabetic and was pretty much convalesing at home

the authorities didnt have to resort to yomtov as he lived there during the week as well and wasnt hiding from anyone

it may be that the eveidence wasnt in place to have him arrested but otherwise he wasnt running anywhere

theres nothing here that i write that the german, austrian officials dont know already, its all in the austrian newspapers, try reading the standard in german, and everything i write here, is public knowledge in vienna , he ruined frum families for life, took away all their savings, appartments, read the kurrier, austrian newspaper, its old news, the austrians dont arrest someone until they have all the proof, and thats why they waited 10 years, because now they do, also when shalom wiess was hiding out here in vienna from the cia, and the FBI, they also needed to arrest him on shabbas because they are sure he is home, two austrian officials were there when he was arrested in lakewood, they are working together with the us gov. , theres no dan lekaf zechus here, hes 100 percent guilty as charged!
