Russert, who rose from the inside world of politics where he was former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo’s press secretary and one-time chief of staff to the late Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, was able to successfully cross over to political journalism and rise to become one of its leading lights.
he became renowned for his hard-nosed interviews where he frequently cornered some of Washington’s cagiest political figures with tough questions.
In 2008, Time Magazine named him one of the world’s 100 most influential people.
In 2007 Mr. Russert received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Yeshiva University President Richard M. Joel.
Wow.
I am surprised he didn’t have a heart attack earlier, if you ever watch him doing his show, you would know what I mean
he spoke at Yeshiva a year ago.
what a shock
This was a real great man, a friend of the Jews, a friend of Israel and a fair and unbiased journalist. Truly sad.
He was a real pro & will be missed
Get yourselves to the doctor pronto to see whether you are candidates for this.
I always noticed his robust face to be a little overly red and obese . When I heard he had a massive heart -attack … the first thought that came to my mind was: WE ALL SAW IT COMING ., I had a close friend’s father 60 yrs old … he looked strong and robust … than one day a massive heart -attack!! Very similar overly robust obesely strained face!. L. dafka
