    M. R., 23, a father of two from Golders Green, North-West London, is accused of four offences which allegedly took place four years ago.

The boy, who is also Jewish and who was 11 or 12 years old at the time, cannot be named. He had left his family home on the day of the alleged incident to buy milk for his mother in nearby Stamford Hill.

Prosecutors say the boy was approached in the street by the defendant, who allegedly asked him to show him where a particular synagogue was.

Once there, Mr R. allegedly pulled the complainant inside and into a cubicle in the male toilets, where it is claimed he performed an indecent act on the boy before raping him.

The boy only complained to police this February and Mr R. was arrested on March 3. He was remanded in custody and twice refused bail.

But at Snaresbrook Crown Court last week, his barrister Gary Grant made a bail application with strict conditions, to which Judge Timothy King agreed.

The package included a £50,000 surety from the defendant’s rabbi, Leone Rabinowitz, and a 24-hour curfew at the Stamford Hill address of a fellow community member. Mr R. who had to have the court proceedings translated into Yiddish, will be allowed to leave this address only if accompanied by one of six chaperones, who are rabbis and senior members of the Charedi community.

A trial date has been set for January 26 next year.

Everybody’s a maven…what’s the Yichus in knowing him? If I were you, I’d deny ever knowing him. Unless, of course, you want your 5 minutes of fame.

being from a “crazy” family does not render the victim as not believable. If I was a betting person I would bet that this IS in fact telling the truth.

everyone has an opinion here! these things do happen but some troubled children will do anything for attention as well. so let’s wait for the truth to come out before judging (and destroying) this man.

no one has ever identifies a story where even a crazy kid made these things up. i knoe a rebbe in boro park who told a father that his son is lying and is a sicko for making things up. didn’t take long and the rabbi’s grandchild came up with similar accusations against the same guy….and the whole world said the rabbi’s grandchild must be a crazy lier.

Once again, a story appears on this site and 2 minutes later everyone who Personally knows the person being referenced “happens” to be here commenting. I know…”its a small world”, but this is to much of a coincidence each time. Please explain this phenomena.

I know the accused and his family, and I have great difficulty believeing the story, especially as the accusers seem to be a very disfunctional family.

May the Aibishter help all parties involved.

Thank you for not posting names.

    I can’t believe this!

EVERY SINGLE TIME a story like this

comes out everyone tries to blame the victim

    and protect the accused.

FOR ONCE REALIZE THAT PERVERTS DO(!) LIVE AMONG YOU, GET OVER IT…JUST BECAUSE WE ARE JEWISH DOES NOT MEAN THERE ARE NO SICKOS HERE!!!!

Kids from dysfunctional families are often the easiest victims of predators as they are the most vulnerable & don’t have a strong support system. So before you “defenders” mouth off, understand that even if a victim seems weird himself, it doesn’t mean he’s lying.

Wouldn’t it be nice if all of you who so vehemently defend the accused in these cases offered support to the victims & their families? Not every case is false, but if it turns out that someone did fabricate a story, then there is an underlying problem that must be quickly addressed.

One thing: if the authorities have brought charges, it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY the accused is innocent.
