NYPOST.com (http://bit.ly/1rDbbOo) reports that the Bronx leads the way with 132 complaints, most of which are related to the time of day the trucks choose to visit city neighborhoods.

“That thing comes around 9:30 p.m. or 10 p.m. and I’m like, are you kidding me?” said 56 year-old Cheryl Fergus, 56, who lives in Norwood. “I’m trying to get my grandkids ready for bed and that ice cream truck comes around. All I hear is, ‘Grandma, grandma, we want ice cream!’ ”

The city’s Noise Code dictates that ice cream truck drivers must cease the music when they’re stopped, standing, or parked, but many complaints say that drivers disregard city policy.

Mister Softy driver 22 year-old Angel Rodrigues, said “I haven’t had any problems. I know the law. I stop playing the music when I pull over . . . I know that a few guys have gotten a citation for the music being loud.”

Grandma’s ill-mannered kids want ice cream at 10 p.m. and she’s complaining about noise from ice cream trucks. Wonder how many violations DEP hands out for chasseneh hall music after 10 p.m. or loud talking after 10 p.m. Citizens of NY really need to get lives and realize that the rats, two and four legged, require more attention. Get the priorities straight and set limits for the kids, feed them too, grandma.
