Sawyer invited ridicule with the error in her intro to a report on the developments in the region, with pro-Palestinian Twitter users mocking the anchor with sarcastic tweets regarding the five-day operation that has thus far claimed the lives of over 100 Palestinians.
The Twitter hashtag #TweetLikeABC generated thousands of entries from pro-Palestinian supporters who lambasted the American news network for the error.

Sawyer apologized on-air Thursday for misidentifying the photos.
“I misidentified these powerful images. The people in these photos are Palestinians in Gaza in the aftermath of an airstrike by Israel, not Israelis, as I mistakenly described them,” Sawyer said. “We want you to know we are truly sorry for the error.”

The questions remains why isn’t abc showing Israeli kids being terrorized?
