Teaneck, NJ – Police have arrested a 20-year-old man after he allegedly sent obscene images of himself over the Internet to a member of a watchdog group, who was posing as a 13-year-old girl.

Mr. L. W. was charged with transmitting child pornography, endangering the welfare of a child, possessing child pornography, criminal contact and computer theft. He was released on $50,000 bail from the Bergen County Jail later that day, on the condition that he surrender his passport and stay off the Internet, said Lt. Dean Kazinci.
Kazinci would not name the watchdog group.
Unless they can prove that he has done thus to other minors, I doubt the charges can stick, since there was no actual crime (there was no child). Neither was it Law-Enforcement, just some adult.

What’s the difference if the recepient was police
posing as a 13 yr old or if it was s/o else posing as a 13 yr old? As long as the intent was there proven by the email correspondence that should be sufficient. Also, I’m sure they will
go over his computer/s with a fine tooth comb as chances are likely that this was not his 1st time. HE should be prosecuted to the FULL extent of the law. We need to rid ourselves from these filthy pedophiles. Let them ROT in prison and get the “treatment” they richly deserve.

As for the other charges, I don’t know what (child) materials he possesed (and I don’t want to know) so I cannot comment.

Marrying him off will not help if he is a pedophile. Had he been e-mailing a girl that is around his age, or at least 17, and there was no child pornography issue, I would agree with you. However, this man obviously needs professional help to deal with his pedophilia before he harms a child, chas veshalom.

You didn’t specify what charges you were talking about in your first blog, hence the 3 comments. Secondly, you say you can’t comment on the other charges because you don’t know what he possesed, but it says in the article “obscene images of himself”. Why are you trying to make it seem this guy will get off real easy- when in reality he is in big trouble. Go to MSNBC online and look up “To catch a predator.”

“obscene images of himself” is not “child pronography material”, therefore I assume there must be something else.
