Old City, Jerusalem – Palestinian residents inside Old City, Jerusalem are standing in defiance of Israeli warning sirens, saying that they wouldn’t use bomb shelters even if they had them and that they know God will protect them.

TIMESOFISRAEL.com (http://bit.ly/1r8tN95) reports that as the month-long observance of Ramadan presses on, Palestinians say they are educating their children as to the true nature of the sirens and what it is they represent.
‘Azza ‘Alan, a 26 year-old Jerusalem Palestinian mother said that when the sirens blared while she was preparing for Iftar, “I shut my five daughters at home, we didn’t leave. We have no bomb shelters here in the Old City. We have God who protects us.”
‘Alan said while the sirens do scare the children, “We tell them that the Jews want to take Jerusalem from us, they want to take the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
Restrictions have been tightened greatly on Palestinians seeking access to pray at the city’s Al-Aqsa Mosque during the conflict, effectively banning anyone from Gaza under the age of 50, but that hasn’t dampened the spirits of worshippers.
35 year-old Um Jumaa said she flew open her windows upon hearing the sirens Saturday evening.
“We were very happy. The children were shouting allahu akbar and we were clapping. We explained to them that Jews have attacked children and this is retaliation. They say ‘My God, may they [the rockets] hit the Jews, and may they die, just the way they hit us.’” Even if rockets hit the Old City, she added, she would have no problem because “we are no different from them [in Gaza].”

Why don’t those Moslem women tell the truth to their children? The fact is that their co religionists are firing rockets at civilians during their holy month of Ramadan instead of spending time as proscribed in contemplation.
