The incident took place at the corner of Eltingville Blvd. and Barlow Avenue at approximately 12:45 a.m. on July 13. The man called police at 2:30 a.m. but police could not find the car.

An official said four white males were in the car.

I was told of a similar incident, which happened years ago in Brooklyn, NY. As a friend of mine was leaving Shul on Shabbos with several other friends, some anti-Semite in a car came by and shouting various vile anti-Semitic slurs at his group. Unfortunately for that bigoted motorist, he didn’t realize that someone in the group was a former IDF paratrooper. He ran after the car, forced the door open, and beat the h— out of the driver. Afterwards, there were varying opinions as to whether or not it was permissible to do that on Shabbos. While it is within Halacha to defend oneself, some people stated that by opening the car do, the light was turned on, and perhaps it was not proper to respond in that manner. I was wondering if anyone would care to comment on the response of that IDF paratrooper. As far as I’m concerned, he was 100% justified. I too, have been the subject of cowardly motorists honking their horns, and sometimes yelling things out. Those cowards always speed by in their cars. As someone in my old Shul once stated “We’ve got to teach them a lesson”.

I live in Staten Island and have had anti Semitic slurs and have been cursed at. It not the end of the world. A person needs to be thick skinned. Obviously the trash that does that should be held accountable.

I’m not even sure that yelling anti-semitic slurs is a crime. The eggs are a different story but as long as it’s just word, who cares? We all grew up with this. It’s not a big deal.
