The JTA is reporting that a stone was thrown through a window into the sanctuary today, according to the president of the Pinneberg Jewish community, Wolfgang Seibert.
Later, in an anonymous call to the community’s office, a male voice said, “The same thing can happen more often. You’ve got no more peace.” He concluded with the Nazi phrase of salute to Hitler, “Sieg Heil.”
The Jewish community of Pinneberg has 180 members.
It’s interesting to think about those strange Jewish souls who live in Germany and Austria, who walk on blood soaked earth and look into the faces of those smiling murderers and their descendants every day.
Which Jewish souls do you mean in Pinneberg? Wolfgang Seibert (a very “Jewish” sounding name) and the 180 Russians there? Go to Germany and have a look to those so called “Jewish” communities.
BTW: What do you think about “strange Jewish souls” walking on blood soaked earth in London or Moscow?
There are Jewish communities in many cities in Germany and Austria. And I don’t see any parity between these countries and England or Russia; I think the Holocaust was unique in scale and viciousness and in almost succeeding; they murdered almost half the Jews in the world.
And it seems to me, correct me if I’m wrong here, that to walk in puddles of fresh blood, in the blood of one’s grandparents and uncles and aunts, to face the murderers themselves, is a repugnant talent that requires either wilfull obliviousness or an absolute deadness of the soul.
