Williamsburg, NY – One day after Ken Diamondstone announced he’s running in the 33rd City Council district in Brooklyn, Isaac Abraham, who told the Daily News he would run back in February, announced a Williamsburg press conference to officially launch the campaign.

Mr. Abraham confirmed to VIN News that he will officially announce at 1 p.m. this coming Sunday at Kent Avenue and S. 9th Street.

Abraham owns a hardware store in Williamsburg, and, if elected, would be the first Hasidic Jew to serve on the City Council.

Already running in the race are former Council staffer Evan Thies, Assembly staffer Stephen Levin, Democratic district leader Jo Ann Simon, and environmental activist Ken Baer.

I once saw Isaac in action defending the Williamsburg Community, if you compare Isaac with Al Sharpton I think Al Sharpton can hide in his pant’s, Isaac is way way a better Advocate for his community.

if the chassidim are only 5% what makes you think that 95% Goyim will vote for a Yid. when there is a גמרא that says עשיו שונא ליעקב

they don’t like us, they will not vote for a yid. this is just my opinion.

but I wish him all the best. we can only benefit from him. he is a fine person, he will help everybody.

KEEP IN MIND THAT HIS DISTRICT WOULDN’T BE 5% YIDDEN AND 95% GOIM.

THE 5% IS CITYWIDE . IN THE WILLIAMSBURG AND NORTH BROOKLYN AREA HE HAS A BIG MAJORITY. IF THE VOTE IS GOING TO BE SPLIT WITH NUMEROUS OTHER CONTEDERS OUTSIDE THE JEWISH VOTE THEN HE HAS A SOILID LEAD

There are only about 500,000 Orthodox Jews in the United States. 5% of the New York population would be about 400,000. And there are about 200,000 Jewish children enrolled in Orthodox Day Schools and Yeshivot all over the US, with about 2/3 of them are in non-Chasidic schools. The Chasidic population of New York City must be a lot smaller than 5% of the overall population.

WILLI BOYS although it sounds great having one of your own to represnt u its not all peaches and cream

take l”kwd nj for an example which has 2 frum committe members who walk a very tight rope trying to be impartial and fair not only o represent the frum olam yet have to answer to unzere why they vote certian ways when it would seem to benefit the heimishe community if he voted farkert many times this forces them to vote agat the community interests lest they show favortisim etc seez beser huban a lo mishelnu to represent u and as long as he knows and u know he needs your vote hell keep your interests in mind when he votes!

according to the us census (see link below) the population of nyc in 2003 was 8,085,742. 5% of it would be 404,287. my personal estimate is that chasidim in nyc total to 80-90 thousand, including children. of course this is irrelevant to Mr. Abraham who is running for a heavy hasidic populated district.

charlie There are alot more then 500m frum jews in maerica. Take for example the jewsih yellow pages in williamsburg alone there is over 15,000 entries BP, CH, and flatbush have more then five times that amount. The average chassid family is 8 kids…so for williamsburg alone its well over 100.000 people. by the way the shomer shaboss Jewish population in the USA is over a million kein yirbo
