State Senator Eric Adams of Brooklyn is teaming with Taser International. The company that will supply police departments statewide with the newly-issued weapons.
The new tasers have advanced technology that has a camera installed on the gun. It will automatically provide video and audio documentation each time the weapon is drawn from its holster.

Senator Adams says the tasers will allow the officers to do their job more efficiently. “This new device I believe is the Cadillac version of the old outdated tasers that I used to carry that didn’t allow you to be at a safe distance from a person who is acting in a very emotional and a very distressed manner. This device that we’re seeing now is the state of the art,” said Adams.

The device also has a clip attached to the officer’s holster, so if the gun is removed from the officer’s hand, it will not discharge.
