(AP Photo/Tsafrir Abayov)United Nations – The United Nations condemned rocket fire into Israel from Gaza that ended a five hour humanitarian truce, but is “alarmed by Israel’s heavy response,” U.N. political affairs chief Jeffrey Feltman told the U.N. “Israel has legitimate security concerns, and we condemn the indiscriminate rocket fire from Gaza into Israel that ended yesterday’s temporary ceasefire. But we are alarmed by Israel’s heavy response,” Feltman told the emergency council session.

Israel intensified its land offensive in Gaza with artillery, tanks and gunboats on Friday and warned it could “significantly widen” an operation Palestinian officials said was killing ever greater numbers of civilians.

the UN is a useless organization filled with the worlds worst haters. They would be better off closing up shop in NY and moving to Rwanda where they can perhaps do something useful.

Are they going to condemn themselves for allowing Hamas to store rockets in the UN school?

What exactly do they consider an appropriate response to over 1000 rockets? I really would like to know.

Everybody is so adept at expressing the problems.
    Nobody offers any solutions.

What would the UN suggest Israel should do?

    They tried a cease-fire twice.

(The double-standard is so obvious, it’s shameful. No other country would react differently than Israel.
On the contrary. If it were any other country being bombarded by Gaza, then there would have been thousands of Palestinian casualties by now…)

crooked naïve UN view again…Israel has tried everything but these murderers keep on terrorizing innocent people and even cause their own people”s deaths by putting them in front of their weaponry. so only solution is destroy them and their weapons and infrastructure completely , they should never again be a threat…..

An old adage of the US army: “if your going to do it, use overwhelming force!”
It’s the best way to minimize casualties.

Israel should attack the UN with over 1000 rockets. Let’s see what THEIR response would be. And let’s not forget the UN run school in Gaza that held an aresnal of weaponry.
