New York City – Never leave your personal belongings unattended, even in a familiar neighborhood, thats the message from a woman who was recently at a family simchah, in a wedding hall in Borough Park, she said, when somebody realized that the Blackberry she had put down in a corner was missing. The woman figured that it had been misplaced and didn’t make a big deal of it.

Later, when some of the women were watching the dancing, two women left pocketbooks on the ables, figuring that they had nothing to worry about. When they went back to retrieve their ocketbooks both realized that their bags were missing.
One of the women — who had her car keys in her pocketbook — ran outside and to her dismay, saw that her car had been stolen as well.
The police were called and a report was filed, the woman told Hamodia, “but I’m still without a car and cellphone, and I had to spend hours on the phone canceling credit cards and protecting my personal information.
I was a victim here, but I want to warn others, I want people to learn from my mistake,” she continued.
The message is clear: never leave your personal belongings unattended, even if you think you know everybody there.
Its possible that maybe the Goyshe waiters worked along with their friends.

The goys did it???? I don’t think so. look inside before blaming others. I don’t know who took the belongings, but to automatically think it could not be a jew is simply wrong.

If it was a simcha hall in Boro Park, the liklihood is that a woman who walked over to the table is the thief, not a man. Any woman dressed appropriatly can walk in off the street and do the same without being noticed.
i think shomrim should make a sting operation . leave a pocket book around with a GPS tracker inside. It should take care of the problem cause the ganuvim will hear all about it.

As a woman I am totally disgusted that another woamn can do such a horrible crime.

A few weeks ago a photographer had expensive equipment stolen during a wedding.
Tell me, does it realy make a difference WHO committed the crime? The bottom line is that one must protect their belongings and keep a wary eye….

is it possibal that the waiters may have seen it and took it! tell the caterers to keep a close eye on them and have cameras!!

Gather all available pictures, videos, surveillance footage.

I left my laptop case in a corner at a wedding hall for “only 2 minutes” to shake some hands and leave, when I prepared to leave, I realized my treasure is missing, after briefly looking around I understood that it was stolen, the hall manager came to my assistance, and he was kinda successful, when he found it wrapped in the jacket of a waiter in the dressing room.
so I guess most women are thieves, but sometimes (like once in decade) a waiter or janitor might also be a thief…
superyummy, WHOCARES WHERE it happened?!?!?! it was in a b.p hall and it makes nooo difference where just watch ur belongings and STOP being such a yenta!
Oy- It can be anyone( fellow simcha attendee,catering staff) that took the items. It can even be a child that was playing with them and took it home by accident.
Or… It can be the tzedaka beggars that”chapped a metziah”.
