The telephone poll last week shows 28 percent believe most legislators are honest, hardworking and do what’s best for their constituents, while 7 percent say they don’t know.

Still, 49 percent say they would re-elect their own state senator, while 35 percent would prefer someone else.

Also, 41 percent say they would re-elect their own Assembly member, while 37 percent want someone different.

Siena’s Steven Greenberg calls the voter criticism of the legislators as a group “a rhetorical indictment.”

The poll of 774 New Yorkers reports a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.

Who pays for these polls? They should demand a refund, you didn’t need to call 770 random people to KNOW this.
