Los Angeles, CA – A pregnant woman in labor couldn’t cross the street in Los Angeles Wednesday to get to the hospital because of President Obama’s motorcade.

The woman, who asked not to be identified, was trying to cross the street with her husband to get to Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Anchor and reporter Robert Kovacik of NBC4 witnessed the woman and husband sitting at a bus stop located at Third Street across the street from the hospital as the motorcade passed reports NBC News 4 (http://bit.ly/1rf1oec).
Witnesses and two LAPD officers at the scene said an ambulance had been called.
Kovacik shot footage on his phone and posted it to his Instagram account.
LAPD Sgt. Kurt Smith, who was at the scene, said that the first thing they would try to get to when the motorcade passed was an ambulance, but he couldn’t “guarantee … the time on that.”
Obama was in Los Angeles Wednesday for 24 hours. He attended two political fundraisers and gave a speech at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College.
Witness Carrie Clifford stated the woman waited to cross for at least 30 minutes.
A Secret Service spokesman said the LAPD is investigating the incident.

G-d forbid the motorcade with his Muslim highness would have to wait two minutes to let the poor woman cross. She was probably white. That would explain it.
Had she been running for an abortion, they would have rolled out the red carpet for her.

He was in LA for a fundraiser. Maybe they wanted her to pay a toll to cross the street.
The Secret Service makes many errors, regarding these motorcades. In 1975, it forgot to arrange with the local authorities to close off a street, somewhere in Connecticut, where Pres. Gerald Ford was speaking. As a result, a motorist through no fault of his own, legally went through an intersection, at the same time that Ford’s limo was proceeding, in another direction. The motorist struck Ford’s limo at a right angle. Ford was shook up, and the Secret Service ran out of their limo with their guns drawn, and confronted the driver. He was later released, when they realized because of their error, it was their fault that the accident occurred.
I know this intersection… It is within a short distance of Cedars, a MAJOR hospital and the only real one locally. (Olympia sends their major cases to cedars, plus it has the NICU and all the specialists on call 24 hours a day).
Why have the motorcade go on that street??? why on 3rd??? No ambulance could go that way when that is the main entrance to Cedars?!?!
Rearrange the way you want to drive Mr president. If there was a natural disaster (I don’t know, an EARTHQUAKE maybe? It is LA. Or maybe a 5 car pileup on the freeway- they can happen at anytime, anywhere) they wouldn’t be able to get ambulances out of the hospital or bring people there. It has the trauma center!!! Don’t block off our hospital!
