Sunwing Airlines spokeswoman Janine Chapman said Friday that Flight 772 departed at 7 a.m. (1100 GMT) and turned around over West Virginia when an “agitated passenger directly threatened the aircraft.” Chapman did not elaborate on the threat.

NORAD Captain Jennifer Stadnyk says the two fighter jets from Ohio flew with plane out of U.S. airspace to Toronto as a “precaution.”

Toronto Police Const. Lilly Fitzpatrick said a 25-year-old Canadian man has been arrested.

Chapman says the flight, carrying 183 passengers and six crew, landed safely and no one was injured.

Chapman says the flight will depart again for Panama this afternoon.

I guess there are no airports near West Virginia, so the plane had to return to Toronto.
