Palestinian Hamas supporters shout slogans against Israel during a protest to support Hamas and against the Israeli attack to Gaza strip in the west bank city of Nablus, 31 July 2014. EPAJerusalem – A member of the IDF’s Southern Command says that Hamas planned the recent violence in Gaza months ago, and that the arrests of Hamas members after three teen Israeli boys were found murdered was not the reason for the violence in the last few weeks.

The official also says he was not surprised by the Hamas tunnel network reports Israel National News (http://bit.ly/1s7aJGd). He states that “everyone” knew about the threat of the tunnels, including people outside of the military.

According to the official, Hamas tripled the tunnel-digging pace in February – upping one eight-hour shift per day to three eight-hour shifts per day – especially in the southern part of the Gaza Strip and that the IDF was aware of that.

“We watched them, we heard the work being done and we saw it advancing at a pace of 150 meters (500 feet) per month,” said the senior officer.

Hamas planned for Bibi to attack Gaza after some boys were killed in the West Bank? Does that make sense?
