Arapahoe County, CO – The Arapahoe County Sherriff’s Office said it has arrested one of two juvenile suspects in a case of ethnic intimidation against a Jewish family.

Deputies were called to the area of South Macon Way and East Maplewood Avenue on a report of criminal mischief.
A homeowner told the deputies that she saw two white male juveniles, dressed in dark clothing, digging in her front yard. The two fled when she confronted them. It was later discovered that swastikas and obscenities were spray painted on the garage door of the house.
The homeowner said that her family is Jewish and that her son had been the target of an anti-Jewish harassment incident while in middle school.
Investigators said they were able to identify two juvenile suspects and arrested one of them one day after the incident.
One of the juveniles was held for investigation of ethnic intimidation and criminal mischief. The second juvenile was released pending the filing of criminal charges.
