    Williamsville, NY – Pat Thomas has lived during three different centuries, and she has been a gardener with attitude for most of that time.

    Born in 1895, Thomas is the sixth oldest person in the United States and the eighth oldest in the world, according to the Verified Living List of the Gerontology Research Group, a collaboration of scientists, physicians and engineers dedicated to studying human aging.

    Today the state’s most senior citizen will celebrate her 113th birthday with a “garden party” at St. Francis Home in Williamsville.

    Her husband died in 1982 and the couple had no children
