NYPOST.com (http://bit.ly/1pgJFzP) reports that that some are calling it a “shakedown,” while others say it’s an unprecedented tactic by City Hall to rake in millions to pay for the city’s overinflated budget.
“They’re opening the compactor bags, and if they see one piece of paper, they write us up,” said one Upper East Side co-op super.
A building manager in the East 50s said de Balsio’s ticket-writing blitzkrieg began at the beginning of the year and hasn’t stopped.
“I never had a problem before. We’ve had 11 or 12 [violations] this year.” the manager said.
A spokesman for de Blasio, Wiley Norvell, said the reason for the spike is twofold, first that there’s a new category, rigid plastics, which was added in 2013, and second that city inspectors diverted to heavily affected areas hit by Hurricane Sandy are back on the job.
“A spokesman for de Blasio, Wiley Norvell, said the reason for the spike is twofold”
No, it’s onefold: de Blasio is in over his head.
What a fool am I for heeding the advice of “askanim” to vote for this two-faced liar, who claims he’s on the side of the people. Yeah, he’s on the side of the people – with his hands in our pockets!
Those who vote for the media darlings in their tailored suits have nothing to complain about. You’re led by the nose and you’re okay with it.
