finally. These traffic people need to get the message. They mostly target the JEWISH community. When I go to work in NYC, my meter can expire and I won’t get a ticket most of the time. But if I park on 13th ave, they are crawling to get us.

What are these guys thinking when they do this? Forget halacha and chilul hashem when assaulting an official. Plain common sense. You obstruct their work, even without assaulting, you will get arrested.

To everyone who’s supporting the idiot who broke the law, and then physically assaulted another human being:

The guy obviously did something that earned him a ticket. The traffic agent was merely doing the job he gets paid for. HELLO? Am I missing something, or is who commented thus far just a bunch of ignoramus hooligans?

This is tragic because Mayor Blumberg announced a couple of months ago that he is upgrading these type of charges to a felony punishable by 7 yrs in jail.

That area is a warehouse area with no clear parking regulations. Thats why the Brownies love it. They get 10 – 15 cars in a row.

    Mimi you are missing alot.

The cops will say you hit them if you get in thier face. In court its your word againt the copy and you lose.

Yes in BP they are more agressive with giving out tickets even if you come before they start writing the ticket they will write it. This WILL NOT happpen in OTHER neighborhoods.

I highly doubt that an otherwise non violent person shoved a traffic cop.

Now lets see the agent filed a report under penalty of perjury that he was repeatedly assaulted, under penalty of perjury of course.

That area is under closed circuit tv surveilance 24hrs a day.

Avraham K. I know that you are under a lot of stress right now. However if you did not assault the agent even if you did block the registration sticker The DA will review the video tapes and offer you a plea bargain.

    DO NOT TAKE IT!!!!

On behalf of all victims of these perjurous Brownies I emplore you, please press charges and sue for false arrest, violation of civil liberties and the whole gamut!

    A fellow victim!

I personally know this person. He is a wonderful individual.

I see that everyone is posting comments based on speculation so let me tell you his story.

On 14th ave by shorei haddas there was a levia going on. The cars usually double park on the avenue.

He was double parked in front of the gas station, when 2 traffic agent came over from both sides of his car and told him to move. He explained that he is on the phone and doesn’t have a headset and will finish his call and move. One agent said ok, but then the second agent started writing the ticket.

He got upset and took away the pen through his window.

They told him to get out of the car. When he came out they grabbed his arm so he took his own arm and touched the agent. The agent said that he touched the agent first and they called the cops.

Guess whom the NYPD will believe him or the agent? So they arrested him.

I guess thats what “repeatedly shoved the agent” means. This could be a lesson how much we can trust the media.

heres a hint, obey the traffic laws. they are there for YOUR safety. you break them, the city has every right to punish you with a knas.

The unfortunate truth is that no matter how much these lowlifes antagonize citizens, no matter how much they display an inherent hatred for Jewish drivers, particularly in Brooklyn, and no matter how much they lie and cheat people who have done nothing wrong the police department will side with them over a citizen any day of the week.

This is always the case. These rude, disgraceful excuses for human beings have the full backing of the police department and there is nothing we can do about it.

That being said, whatever this guy did, whether he pushed, took a pen, whatever… that was a big mistake. As is the NYPD will always back the lowlife traffic agent. Why open yourself up to being arrested for assault?

“He was upset so have grabbed the pen”?? That was just not a good idea.

Believe me, after seeing many Hatzolah members get tickets while on call and even hearing about the Traffic Department towing a Hatzolah ambulance, I certainly know what kind of animals these are. You still can’t touch them…

All the best to the guy, but I think he’s going to have a lot of Tzuris because of this.

While I don’t know the facts of the case. These meter maids really are public servants and as such need to treat the public with respect. I understand people can become beligerant to them but I’ve asked them questions (very nicely) and I’ve gotten rude responses. Also I’ve seen the meter maids…u turn over double yellow lined roads (Coney Island Ave) because they see a ticket opportunity. That is just malicious

the knas is outrageous and not done fairly, nyc is from the only citys if not the only one that counts on the fines as a source of revenue so they are out there to fine you no matter what. the amounts per fine is outrageous its not a fine its a collection for the city to further support illegal’s.

Even if he was not breaking the law – he pulled over to use his cell phone and respectfull(I hope) asked to finish his call, ans was told okay by one of the officers, he would have been better off telling that story to a judge than breaking the law by grabbing the pen from the officer. What follows next is a result of that mistake.

I agree with Anon. 12:32PM! And all the other posters who lecture us about how “The laws are here for our [own] well being and protection”, fail to realize that a huge segment of those who are supposed to enforce the [traffic] laws (a/o to regular officers of the NYPD, who are more intelligent and well motivated) are the dregs (it’s not what you think it it means! pls. lk. up in dict.) of society who bring their mental illness and anti-social behavior on the job, on top of their prejudice!

It’s, relating to other human beings, (yes, including Jews and Chassidim) that makes the difference!!!

for anyone who thinks that boro park is targetd, come and spend the day in manhattan.

particularly near beth israel hospital. they ahve traffic agents there that not only write you a ticket if you are in your car, but they then wont give it to you and claim you drove off. i guess they hope that you wont check for it on line and then you end up with a penalty on top of the ticket.

all a bunch of chayas that flunked out of polica academy.

    Mr. Bigwheel,

YOU sir are a chilul hashem of the highest order. Its no wonder if a traffic cop can read your words and then not have negative feelings towards us.

I don’t understand why some people feel the absolute need to turn everything into a religious vs. non religious issue.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Kollel or Touro College. There are plenty of other topics to take that Jew vs. Jew venomous garbage to.

The point of this topic and many of the comments in it is to advise people to be cautious when dealing with these traffic agents.

The bottom line is that they are a very unfriendly, rude, bitter, spiteful, and downright nasty group of people. They enjoy giving people tickets whether they deserve it or not. They enjoy, even moreso, giving tickets to Jewish drivers and remarkably they don’t ask you if you’re a Kollel person or if you went to college.

Stop selfishly turning every topic into a hatefest amongst our own people. If this was my site I would’ve banned your IP ages ago.

These traffic cops are out of control. I do not agree with what that fellow did, but I know someone who was trying to pull into a parking spot had their blinker on, and as they were on reverse two of these traffic enforcer cops came up to the car. One stood at the back of the car, while the other stood at the drivers side and started writing a ticket, claiming that the person was double parked. When the person asked what is going on the traffic cop started laughing and said, “What you can’t afford to pay for such a ticket!!!” When the person contacted Simcha Felders office all they were told was oh, that happened to two other people today. They have to be stopped. What these traffic cops do is outrageous.

A writer in the know, said that he was asked politely to move. His answer was that when he finishes him call.

Well excuse me, doesn’t anyone notice anything wrong here? He was asked to move, so move! He actually gave the driver a chance.

Don’t say ‘one minute, as soon as I finish this or that’. Are you all crazy?

    You all missed the point.

He was a wise guy and I dont care how many people vouch for his eidelkit, he was blatantly disrespectful. His behavior was a true Chillul Hashem.

The common thead to all stories regarding tickets is that how dare they be given one. I remember the one where a man was driving in the bus lane and thought that the agent was anti-semitic for writing it.

Do the people on this blog know every single agent on the payroll? Don’t they have a problem ascribing terms like dregs, belligerent, rude

and worse based upon some agents? What if the agents alleged anti-semitism was based upon the actions of a few that they believe applies to all Jews. Aren’t you doing the same?

The bottom line is don’t grab an agents pen, don’t get into an agents face and don’t break the law.

Th traffic cops are more numerous in BP because there are heavy commercial streets with a lot of clogged traffic , i.e. 13 , 16 and 18th aves., that’s why. Not because they want to prey on Jews. Get over it. They put more of them in ALL commercial areas to prevent double and triple parkers who don’t let traffic flow.

btw for all those “know it all” Simcha felder said it himself on Nachum segal’s show that your allowed to stay inside your car at a pump and it is 100% LEGAL so all those that think he was disrespectful or made a big chillul hashem are all just ignorant about the law…… so yes i hope these shvartzes read our posts (i dont think they can read so i am not that worried)
