Judy Danziger was in the roadway on Becketts Court in Chestnut Ridge at 1:30 in the afternoon when she was hit by a 2002 Toyota Sienna that was backing out onto the street.

Ironically, the accident took place while Ramapo police were out on of Monsey’s most heavily traveled streets, conducting the first phase of a safety program aimed at improving safety in the Town of Ramapo, as reported Friday on VIN News.

The child was in cardiac arrest when she was transported to the hospital and was stabilized upon arrival. She was pronounced dead at 10 AM this morning.

The driver of the vehicle, a 19 year old young woman from Monsey, remained on scene.

Ramapo police told VIN News that the accident is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.

An 18 month old should not be playing in the roadway. The Ramapo police are trying to explain to parents to keep kids out of the street.
