Gill Rosenberg, 31, from Tel Aviv, said in an interview with Israel Radio earlier this month she had decided to join the fighters for humanitarian and ideological reasons and “because they are our brothers” who are fighting the evil of Islamic State.

On her Facebook page she posted several pictures, including of Tel Aviv and the Old City in Jerusalem, that she took prior to leaving for Kurdish Iraq and Syria.

“My last day in Israel – seems like way more than a week ago. YPG [Kurdish army] uniform pics coming soon! Once the tailor finishes my customized uniform,” she wrote on one of the pictures.

The first mistake was that she went. The second mistake was the big publicity made by the media that she was there.

I would not be surprised if they put her on a dangerous mission… And now they should not be advertising on the news that she is Israeli.

Besides the fact that I consider her dead already since its only a matter of time, I don’t feel bad for her in the least and let this be a lesson for anyone else not to travel there or this might happen. let he be a kappurah for us all

Although she put herself in a terrible position, remember that many Kurds helped many Jews escape from Iran years ago, and we do owe them help. What a horror that she got caught.

You guys do realize, this is unconfirmed and it’s probably an ISIS propaganda. It’s still good to know what her hespade would sound like. Just love the Monday morning quarterbacks.

Every time some nutcases decide to put themselves at risk, there is an almost immediate chorus of demands that the government (typically the U.S. but in this case perhaps Canada or EY) “do something” to rescue them from their captivity, thereby putting many others at risk of injury or death, putting aside the costs of millions of dollars/NIS to effectuate a rescue or ransom. Its hard to say but at some point, we need to say, your on your own and if you put yourself at risk, be prepared to suffer the horrific consequences. Its one thing to debate the terrorist release to gain the return of Shalit but he had no choice as a military captive. Why should someone else’s son or daughter die in an effort to rescue this crazy woman.
