The officer, who could not be named speaking about an ongoing situation, said the attacker has locked himself inside the downtown shop, with police ready to intervene outside.
He said it is unclear whether the hostage-taking is related to the massacre Wednesday in Paris at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo that left 12 people dead.
AFP is reporting that this appears to be an armed robbery, and is not linked to any terrorism.
looks like the french did not get the full massage yet, they only condame the words terrorist, instead saying with a full mouth “islamist ” let them be busy till they wake up
Of course. Who would think otherwise? It’s all this islamaphobia that always screams terrorism where none is indicated. In fact, it now appears that the earlier hostage-taking situation today was just a botched attempt to steal some cucumbers.
