Washington – President Barack Obama says the U.S. must resist the urge to “overreach” when it comes to involvement in global crises.

In a new document outlining his national security priorities, the president says the U.S. will always defend its interests and uphold commitments to partners and allies. But he also says the country cannot make decisions out of fear and should not rely on solely on military power.
The strategy outline makes no substantial shifts to U.S. policy toward the Islamic State militants, or in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The president says the threat of a terrorist attack on the U.S. “has diminished but still persists.” In combating that threat, Obama says he will continue to shift away from large-scale ground wars and focus instead on targeted counterterrorism operations.
Commander in fear
The US is lucky to have a sensible person serving as President at this dangerous time in history. He recognizes that military might is not the solution to every problem.
I would ask any fellow readers of this site who advocate military intervention, whether they have ever served in the military…..or are the “patriots” who advocate war but for expect others to do the dirt work.
This president has no spine. He is obsessed with his legacy, that he will let the city burn before he does anything. Bengazi was just the tip of the iceberg.
Yes, Barack, I understand. If we “overreach,” we may kill too many of the worriers of the religion into which you were born and raised and to which you are still loyal, so much so that you will never refer to it by name unless you are praising it. Now, you don’t mind to kill some of the muslims, just to keep up appearance that you act in America’s interests, but not too many. So happens that I agree with you here and would go even farther: we shouldn’t get involved in that conflict at all. But for an opposite reason: I want all sides in this conflict to damage each other as much as they can.
And of course the line about not making decisions out of fear is straight out of Dan Carlin, he only repeated it seventeen thousand times. Good to know that you learned something in the colleges into which you were admitted on the strength of affirmative action: you learned to repeat what other men said. Kudos!
And, yes, Mr. President. you’re doing an excellent job resisting.

How very like the younger Mr. Bush’s campaign pledge for a more modest foreign policy. You cannot help but wonder how well we would be doing had he not invaded Iraq the second time.
He speak with forked tongue. He has zero problem looking for every loophole or excuse to support terror or anyone that wants to wipe Israel off the map.
